A week of second-hand work outfits

After starting my 9-5 job I've noticed that most of the clothes I wear are work clothes. I also like to change up the outfits I wear which can be difficult and expensive when needing to wear smart items. Due to this, most of my work clothes are second-hand and I thought it would be a good idea to wear preloved all week and document it for you! I'll go over the items that make up each outfit, where I got them from and why I bought them...

Monday

I started off the week wearing my go to work trousers. They are

M&S, super comfy, perfect length and have zip up pockets (which is a win for me). I bought them just before I started my job around a year ago as I was looking for some staple wardrobe pieces. I found them in a local hospice shop called 'Heart of Kent' in West Malling, they were brand-new and around £5 if I remember correctly!

I paired the trousers with a bright yellow cord-knit jumper, this is an easy and comfortable outfit for me. The jumper was bought for £1 in Age UK Gillingham a few months ago, it was a steal! Originally from TU, it is very well made and was in great condition.

Tuesday

I love this outfit! The trousers were a charity shop purchase from my mum for me, I think they were £3 from Scope in Gillingham and brand-new! I love how they flare and are long enough to reach my feet, which is difficult when you're tall. They are super comfy with an elasticated waist. They are from Yours and as I don't pop into that shop often it's great to find trousers I usually wouldn't see in the shops.

The top was a recent purchase from St Christopher's Shop in Orpington for £1! It's originally from New Look and a size smaller than I usually buy but I knew it would work great with these trousers and luckily it fits! The jacket is from my Nan who bought it for my Grandad but he didn't like it, there's not often you get hand me downs from your Grandad!

Wednesday

A midweek dress! This dress was bought by my mum for me (she's a bigger charity shop advocate than I am!) for £1 again in St Christoper's Shop in Orpington. This is probably the best bargain of the outfits as this was a brand-new TU dress and definitely worth more than £1. It fits fantastic, is very smart and has front pockets.

Thursday

This is a very typical comfortable and easy work outfit for me. The top is from George and was purchased at a bootfair last summer for 50p! This is now a staple in my workwear as it goes with any patterned trousers and skirts. The trousers I have had for a very long time and honestly can't remember where they are from. They are elasticated, comfortable and look smart!

Friday

On Friday I wore my newest charity shop purchase which was these trousers! They are originally from M&S and I bought them for £1 last weekend in St Christopher's Orpington (again!). They were in fantastic condition and are a great addition to my work outfits.

The top is from New Look and was purchased at a Bootfair last summer for 50p, with the other black top. This is another great staple and goes with many of my other items. It is made of a light material which makes it perfect for summer or can be layered in the cold weather!
