To start off, I thought it would be appropriate to share a little about myself and why I decide to shop preloved/second-hand.
For me, shopping preloved has many benefits and has become a huge part of my life and my purchasing habits. Ever since I was young I have enjoyed shopping in general, being able to express myself through clothing. As years went by, I wanted to find a cheaper and more sustainable way to keep my love for shopping without harming the planet or my purse. This is when I got more into second-hand shopping, looking for new outfits in charity shops, bootfairs and online sites such as vinted and depop.
As a lover of fashion, shopping preloved is an exciting experience. Being able to find items that suit my style and are unique and different is great. I love the challenge of finding something that I love and I definitely have over the years, from jeans to bags to trainers. The thrill of finding the perfect item feels like an achievement and an adventure!
Being sustainable is also a large driving factor in why I shop preloved. As someone who loves buying new clothes and updating their wardrobe, I am fully aware of the toll this can take on the environment. Shopping preloved and donating my unwanted clothes back to charity shops and clothes banks allows me to do my bit to decrease the negative impact fast fashion can have. However, to be transparent, I do still purchase items new from high-street brands particularly for stables or limited edition items. This has decreased overtime and I am trying to make better choices with my shopping habits.
I also enjoy sharing my finds on Instagram and now on here! This was just a short introduction but be sure to look out for more posts in the near future...
